Contents 1. Presentation Tips 2. IR/PR professional events TV/Media Tips 1. If you want to look better in TV interviews, watch other people being interviewed on TV while the volume is OFF. 2. Don't wear bright reds on TV. They "bleed" on camera and are distracting. 3. If you are wearing an earpiece and you lose the volume during a live broadcast interview, quietly state your name and say that you can't hear anything. The producer should be able to hear you and make the necessary changes. 4. One extra person is Ok, but don't bring an entourage with you to a TV studio. 5. When the TV interview is over, sit still until the producer or host tells you that you are done and may leave. Speaking/Presentation Tips 6. Try to sum up your three main messages in 30 seconds. 7. All additional time, whether it is 2 minutes or one hour, should be used to flesh out your three main points via more examples and case studies. 8. Never start a speech by apologizing for some inadequacy. 9. Avoid salty foods before you speak; they will make you thirsty. 10. If you are turning the lights out during a PowerPoint Presentation, make sure you have a light at the lectern if you are hoping to read any notes. *** TJWALKER Media, is a media/presentation training firm specializing in coaching senior executives of public corporations. http://click.email-publisher.com/maaahi3aaRcOHaaaaaab/ FREE Gift-Pack for TJ Walker newsletter subscribers.
